Rowers will have one last chance to qualify for the 2012 London Olympic Games at the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta May 20-23 in Lucerne, Switzerland. A total of 377 athletes from 50 countries are scheduled to compete in 14 Olympic events.

The first stage of the 2012 Samsung World Rowing Cup series in Belgrade, Serbia resulted in two medals for U.S. crews – silver for Eleanor Logan (Boothbay Harbor, Maine) and Erin Cafaro (Modesto, Calif.), and bronze for Taylor Ritzel (Larkspur, Colo.) and Caroline Lind (Greensboro, N.C.) in the women’s pair event.

The U.S. trunk and arms mixed double sculls crew of Rob Jones (Lovettsville, Va.) and Oksana Masters (Buffalo, N.Y.) won gold to highlight racing at the Final Paralympic Qualification Regatta in Belgrade, Serbia. In addition, it was a finish that qualified them for the U.S. Paralympic Rowing Team, pending final approval by the United States Olympic Committee.

One day of racing remains for crews competing in the first stage of the 2012 Samsung World Rowing Cup series in Belgrade, Serbia. Four U.S. crews are set to race in the A finals including the lightweight women’s double sculls, women’s quadruple sculls and both entries of the women’s pair.
